Karate Combat’s final event of 2024 will be Thursday in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, where a new bantamweight champion will be crowned.

Broadcast and streaming information
Karate Combat 51 takes place Thursday at the Airport Hangat at Fort Lauderdale Executive Airport in Ft. instead of. Lauderdale, Florida.
Preliminary cards will be broadcast live on YouTube at 7:00 p.m. ET. The main card will also be streamed live on YouTube starting at 8:30 p.m. ET, headlined by a vacant bantamweight championship fight between Arturo Vergara and Eoghan Chelmiah.
Bantamweight Championship: Arturo Vergara vs. Eoghan Chelmiah
Arturo Vergara is undefeated in Karate Combat with a record of 4-0. He has TKO victories over Nathan Fought and Jesse Bazzi, a knockout over Joe Penafiel and a unanimous decision over Safarmamad Akhmadov. … Eoghan Chelmiah became the first bantamweight karate combat champion, defeating Ilies Mardhi in September 2021. At 7-2, Chelmiah begins a two-fight win streak with knockouts against Maximo Nunez and Jordan Winski.
Middleweight: Cosmo Alexandre vs. Igor de Castañeda
Cosmo Alexandre makes his Karate Combat debut. Alexandre has competed in several combat sports throughout his career, including MMA under the Bellator and ONE Championship banners, as well as kickboxing and Muay Thai. … Igor de Castañeda fought for the middleweight karate combat title in his last outing, but failed against Ross Levine. At 4-4 in Karate Combat, Castañeda has two knockouts, a TKO and a unanimous decision win.
UFC veterans compete at Karate Combat 51
Karate Combat 51 will feature some UFC veterans that MMA fans are familiar with.
Robelis Despaigne, a 1.90 meter tall heavyweight who turned heads with his size, makes his karate fighting debut against Dominik Jedrzejczyk in a heavyweight bout.
Two UFC veterans, Rafael Alves and Khama Worthy, collide in a catchweight contest on the main card.
Alves has won his first two Karate Combat fights and defeated two UFC veterans earlier this year. In February he won a unanimous decision against Efrain Escudero and in June he brutally knocked out James Vick with a head kick. Worthy is making his Karate Combat debut in his fourth martial arts fight in 2024. He is 1-1 in MMA fights and 1-0 in kickboxing.
