The San Jose Sharks have written an unfortunate story after another blown home lead.
According to Dan Rusanowsky, the Sharks “became the first team in NHL history to lose three straight games in regulation, all at home, after holding a lead in the third period in each game.”
However, head coach Ryan Warsofsky continues to believe in his team and had a heartfelt message for fans after the 4-2 loss to the Colorado Avalanche.
“I am firmly convinced that we will win these games. We will do it. We’re in. Against really good teams. We play with a pretty good structure. Our effort is pretty solid. Our competitiveness is there,” he said. “As a fan I know it’s frustrating, believe me, we’re extremely frustrated there. But I know our guys are working extremely hard to make this organization and the fans and the community really proud, and one day it will happen.”
Carl Grundstrom and William Eklund scored in Mackenzie Blackwood’s return to the SAP Center. Eklund’s goal gave San Jose a 2-1 lead in the second period.
