If you blinked, you would have missed Robelis Despaigne’s first fight since his UFC release.

At Karate Combat 51, Despaigne entered the karate pit for his debut fight with the promotion to face Dominik Jedrzejczyk. Despaigne threw a total of two punches: a kick and a right hand punch. The right hand cut off Jedrzejczyk and quickly ended the fight in just 5 seconds.

You can watch a video recording of the entire fight in the video above.

Despaigne, a 6-foot-2 heavyweight, made waves on the regional MMA scene with knockouts like this one. His peak earned him an opportunity in the UFC, where he debuted at UFC 299 in March. This fight, much like his Karate Combat debut, was quick. He defeated Josh Parisian in just 18 seconds and won a Performance of the Night bonus.

Unfortunately, Despaigne then lost two consecutive unanimous decisions to Waldo Cortes-Acosta and Austen Lane, leading to his departure from the UFC in just three fights.

However, on Friday, Despaigne returned to his goals and added another highlight to his role to round off a turbulent 2024. In MMA, Despaigne achieved five first-round finishes in a total of seven fights.
